Ocean Sole

The "Ocean Sole" initiative recycles flip-flops abandoned on beaches and in oceans, turning them into colorful works of art. As well as cleaning up the oceans, it raises awareness of marine pollution.

We are a registered non-profit organization with a mission to clean up polluted beaches and provide employment for artisans in high-impact communities.

Ocean Sole

Flip-flop art

Based in Kenya, Ocean Sole does a remarkable job of transforming discarded flip-flops caught in the sea and rivers into fantastic works of art.

It plays a dual role: cleaning up the Indico and creating sustainable job opportunities.

The slippers are cleaned and glued together by local artisans, who create the most diverse sculptures out of ocean waste, from pieces just a few centimeters long to giraffes over 4 meters long.

United to Remake, which also presents its own collection of products in the Merece store, was the company that brought Ocean Sole to Portugal. Within the Merece store, these pieces are supplied by United to Remake.
